LIQUID EJECTION APPARATUS AND PRINT HEAD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240109318 titled 'LIQUID EJECTION APPARATUS AND PRINT HEAD

Simplified Explanation

The liquid ejection apparatus described in the abstract includes a control circuit, a drive signal output circuit, and a print head with a piezoelectric element that ejects liquid. The apparatus also features a pressure chamber substrate with multiple pressure chambers, a switch circuit to control the supply of the drive signal, a wiring substrate with the switch circuit, and a temperature detection portion that monitors temperature information of the pressure chamber.

  • Piezoelectric element driven by the drive signal
  • Pressure chamber substrate with deformable chambers
  • Switch circuit controls supply of drive signal
  • Temperature detection portion monitors chamber temperature

Potential Applications

The technology could be applied in inkjet printers, 3D printers, and other liquid ejection systems.

Problems Solved

The apparatus helps in precise control of liquid ejection, preventing clogs or misfires.

Benefits

Improved printing quality, reduced maintenance, and increased efficiency in liquid ejection processes.

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology can be utilized in manufacturing industries, graphic design studios, and commercial printing businesses.

Possible Prior Art

Similar technologies may exist in the field of inkjet printing and industrial liquid ejection systems.

Unanswered Questions

How does the temperature information impact the performance of the liquid ejection apparatus?

The temperature information detected by the temperature detection portion could be used to optimize the operation of the apparatus, but the specific details are not provided in the abstract.

What is the impact of the switch circuit on the overall efficiency of the liquid ejection process?

While the switch circuit is mentioned as a key component, its exact role in enhancing the performance of the apparatus is not elaborated upon in the abstract.

Original Abstract Submitted

a liquid ejection apparatus includes a control circuit, a drive signal output circuit that outputs a drive signal, and a print head that ejects a liquid, in which the print head includes a piezoelectric element that is driven by receiving the drive signal, a pressure chamber substrate that is provided with a plurality of pressure chambers of which volumes change due to deformation, a switch circuit that switches whether or not to supply the drive signal to the piezoelectric element, a wiring substrate that is provided with the switch circuit, and a temperature detection portion that detects temperature information of the pressure chamber, and the temperature information detected by the temperature detection portion in a period in which the switch circuit does not supply the drive signal to the piezoelectric element is input to the control circuit.
