METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MULTICAST SESSION SIGNALING IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240214988 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MULTICAST SESSION SIGNALING IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The abstract describes a method for multicast session notification signaling and procedure in a wireless network by a User Equipment (UE). The method involves receiving signals related to a Multicast and Broadcast Service (MBS) session in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connected state, transitioning from RRC connected state to RRC idle or inactive state, monitoring a message for group notification related to MBS sessions on a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH), identifying a Temporary Mobile Group Identity (TMGI) indicating the MBS session, and forwarding the TMGI to an upper layer.
- Method for multicast session notification signaling and procedure in a wireless network by UE

Commercial Applications: Title: "Wireless Network Multicast Session Notification Signaling Method" This technology can be utilized in telecommunications companies to enhance multicast services for users. It can also be integrated into mobile devices to improve the efficiency of group communication applications.
Questions about the technology: 1. How does this method improve the user experience for multicast services? 2. What are the key benefits of transitioning between RRC states for multicast sessions?
Original Abstract Submitted
embodiments herein provide method for multicast session notification signalling and procedure in wireless network () by ue (). in an embodiment, the method includes receiving a signal related with a multicast and broadcast service (mbs) session in a radio resource control (rrc) connected state; in case that the ue () transits from the rrc connected state to one of a rrc idle state or a rrc inactive state and determines to join in at least one mbs session, monitoring a message for a group notification related with the at least one mbs session on a physical downlink control channel (pdcch); based on a detection of the paging message, identifying a temporary mobile group identity (tmgi) indicating one of the at least one mbs session included in the paging message; and forwarding the identified tmgi to an upper layer.
