WEARABLE DEVICE OUTPUTTING SOUND FOR OBJECT OF INTEREST AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240192492 titled 'WEARABLE DEVICE OUTPUTTING SOUND FOR OBJECT OF INTEREST AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

The abstract describes a wearable device that can output a sound related to an object of interest for the user wearing it. The device includes a microphone, a speaker, and a processor that can identify the object of interest, capture a sound signal from it, and output the sound through the speaker based on the sensitivity of the signal.

  • Wearable device with microphone, speaker, and processor
  • Identifies object of interest and captures sound signal from it
  • Outputs sound related to object of interest through speaker
  • Sensitivity of sound signal determines output

Potential Applications: - Personalized audio notifications for specific objects - Assistive technology for visually impaired individuals - Location-based audio guides for tourists

Problems Solved: - Enhances user experience by providing audio feedback on objects of interest - Improves accessibility for individuals with visual impairments - Increases engagement and interaction with surroundings

Benefits: - Hands-free access to information about objects - Customizable audio alerts for different objects - Enhanced user experience and accessibility

Commercial Applications: Title: "Smart Wearable Device for Object Identification and Audio Output" This technology can be used in: - Smart glasses for augmented reality applications - Fitness trackers with object recognition capabilities - Navigation devices for the visually impaired

Prior Art: Prior art related to this technology may include: - Wearable devices with audio output features - Object recognition technology in smartphones and cameras

Frequently Updated Research: Research on improving object recognition accuracy and sound signal processing algorithms for wearable devices can enhance the performance of this technology.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the sensitivity of the sound signal impact the output of the wearable device? 2. What are the potential privacy concerns related to using a wearable device that can identify and output sounds related to objects of interest?

Original Abstract Submitted

a wearable device outputting a sound for an object of interest and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. in an embodiment, a wearable device may comprise at least one microphone, at least one speaker, and at least one processor. the at least one processor may be configured to identify an object of interest of a user wearing the wearable device, obtain a sound signal generated from the identified object of interest using the at least one microphone, and output the sound signal generated from the object of interest through the at least one speaker or output a sound related to the object of interest through the at least one speaker, based on a sensitivity of the obtained sound signal.
