an electronic device for providing a calendar user interface (ui) displaying image and a control method thereof are provided. the electronic device may include a display, a memory configured to store a plurality of images, and a processor configured to control the calendar ui to display, in a date area of the calendar ui, a first image having time information corresponding to the date area, among a plurality of images, and based on the first image being selected among the plurality of images, identify a context included in the first image, search for a second image that is different from the first image and corresponds to the identified context, and control the calendar ui to display the second image together with the first image on the calendar ui.
