an electronic device and a method for performing wireless communication by an electronic device are provided. the electronic device includes a communication circuit and a processor configured to establish, via a server, a call connection with a first external electronic device, transmit or receive, to or from the first external electronic device via direct communication with the first external electronic device, data related to an application program, based on an occurrence of an event related to a transferring of the call connection from the first external electronic device to a second external electronic device, store state information on the application program, transmit, to the second external electronic device via direct communication with the second external electronic device, the state information on the application program, and transmit, to the server, information on the transferring of the call connection from the first external electronic device to the second external electronic device.
