METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING CONTROL INFORMATION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240163970 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING CONTROL INFORMATION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a method for power saving in a wireless communication system, where a terminal receives parameters from a base station to identify a search space for monitoring downlink control information related to power saving. The downlink control information includes a wake-up signal and a bandwidth part indication, which are used to perform monitoring of a physical downlink control channel.
- The method involves a terminal receiving parameters from a base station for a search space.
- The terminal monitors downlink control information related to power saving on the identified search space.
- The downlink control information includes a wake-up signal and a bandwidth part indication.
- The terminal performs monitoring of a physical downlink control channel based on the wake-up signal and bandwidth part indication.
Potential Applications
This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems to improve power saving mechanisms for terminals, leading to enhanced battery life and overall energy efficiency.
Problems Solved
This technology addresses the issue of power consumption in wireless communication systems by optimizing the monitoring of downlink control information related to power saving, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Benefits
The benefits of this technology include extended battery life for terminals, reduced power consumption, and improved overall performance of wireless communication systems.
Potential Commercial Applications
Potential commercial applications of this technology include mobile devices, IoT devices, and other wireless communication systems where power saving is a critical factor for operation and user experience.
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art could be methods for power saving in wireless communication systems that involve monitoring downlink control information, but may not specifically address the use of wake-up signals and bandwidth part indications for efficient monitoring.
Original Abstract Submitted
disclosed is a method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, including receiving, from a base station, at least one parameter for a search space, monitoring, on the search space, downlink control information (dci) related with power saving, the search space being identified based on the at least one parameter, and the dci related with the power saving including a wake up signal indicating whether to monitor a physical downlink control channel (pdcch) and a bandwidth part (bwp) indication related with the wake up signal, and performing a pdcch monitoring based on the wake up signal and the bwp indication included in the dci related with the power saving.
