ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING EXECUTION OF VOICE COMMAND AND METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240127815 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING EXECUTION OF VOICE COMMAND AND METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an electronic device that can identify speech through a microphone, execute functions based on the speech, and output results through a speaker.

  • Communication circuitry, microphone, speaker, memory, and processor are included in the electronic device.
  • The processor identifies speech in an audio signal and executes functions based on the speech.
  • The device can perform different functions on an external device based on the identified speech.
  • Results of the functions are outputted through the speaker in a sequence associated with the speech.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in:

  • Voice-controlled devices
  • Speech recognition systems
  • Hands-free operation of electronic devices

Problems Solved

  • Streamlining user interactions with electronic devices
  • Enabling hands-free operation for improved convenience
  • Enhancing accessibility for users with disabilities

Benefits

  • Improved user experience
  • Increased efficiency in executing functions
  • Enhanced accessibility for a wider range of users

Potential Commercial Applications

Optimizing voice-controlled devices for various industries

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be voice assistants like Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa, which also respond to voice commands and perform functions based on speech input.

What are the security measures in place to protect user data when processing speech input?

Answer: The article does not mention specific security measures for protecting user data, which could be a concern for privacy-conscious users.

How does this technology handle different accents and languages in speech recognition?

Answer: The article does not address how the device handles variations in accents and languages, which could affect the accuracy and reliability of speech recognition in diverse user populations.

Original Abstract Submitted

an electronic device includes a communication circuitry, a microphone, a speaker, a memory, and a processor. the processor may identify a first audio signal received through the microphone. the processor may perform, based on identifying that the first audio signal may include a speech for sequentially executing a plurality of functions, at least one first function from among the plurality of functions. the processor may perform, based on identifying that the first audio signal may include the speech, at least one second function from among the plurality of functions on an external electronic device through the communication circuitry, the at least one second function being different from the at least one first function. the processor may sequentially output, through the speaker, at least one second audio signal representing at least one result of performing the at least one first function and the at least one second function based on a sequence associated with the speech.
