DISPLAY PANEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240298477 titled 'DISPLAY PANEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME

The abstract describes a display panel with multiple layers and components, including an anode, cathode, and light-emitting pattern, designed for emitting light.

  • Base layer with insulating layer and groove
  • Anode positioned in the groove
  • Pixel defining layer with light-emitting opening exposing the anode
  • Partition wall with opening corresponding to the light-emitting opening
  • Cathode partially in contact with the partition wall
  • Anode with first and second portions covered by the pixel defining layer

Potential Applications: - Display screens for electronic devices - Lighting panels for signage or decorative purposes

Problems Solved: - Efficient light emission in a display panel - Precise control of light output in pixels

Benefits: - Enhanced display quality - Energy-efficient lighting solutions

Commercial Applications: - Manufacturing of high-resolution displays - Production of energy-efficient lighting fixtures

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the design of the display panel improve light emission efficiency? 2. What are the advantages of having a partition wall in the display panel?

Frequently Updated Research: - Ongoing studies on improving the efficiency of light-emitting patterns in display panels.

Original Abstract Submitted

provided is a display panel including a base layer, an insulating layer having a groove defined thereon and disposed on the base layer, an anode disposed in the groove, a pixel defining layer disposed on the insulating layer and having a first light-emitting opening defined therein and exposing at least a portion of the anode, a partition wall having a partition wall opening defined therein and corresponding to the light-emitting opening, including a tip portion, and disposed on the pixel defining layer, a cathode at least partially disposed in the partition wall opening and in contact with an inner side surface of the partition wall defining the partition wall opening, and a light-emitting pattern disposed between the anode and the cathode, wherein the anode includes a first portion and a second portion protruding from the first portion toward the pixel defining layer and covered by the pixel defining layer.
