DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240284769 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE

The patent application describes a display device with a low reflection member that includes a spacer and a nano-protrusion of different cross-sectional shapes. The spacer is thicker than the nano-protrusion, and the upper surface of the spacer is flat and parallel to the window surface, while the width of the nano-protrusion decreases with distance from the window.

  • Display device with low reflection member
  • Spacer and nano-protrusion with different shapes
  • Spacer thicker than nano-protrusion
  • Flat upper surface of spacer parallel to window surface
  • Nano-protrusion width decreases with distance from window

Potential Applications: - Electronic devices with displays - Anti-glare screens for outdoor use - High-resolution displays for improved visibility

Problems Solved: - Reflection and glare on display screens - Reduced visibility in bright environments - Distorted images due to reflections

Benefits: - Improved visibility in various lighting conditions - Enhanced user experience with clear display screens - Reduced eye strain from glare

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Display Technology for Enhanced Visibility This technology can be used in smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other electronic devices to improve screen visibility in different lighting conditions. It can also be applied in outdoor displays, digital signage, and automotive displays for better readability and reduced glare.

Questions about Display Device Technology: 1. How does the nano-protrusion contribute to reducing reflections on the display screen?

  - The nano-protrusion helps scatter light and reduce reflections by altering the surface properties of the window.

2. What are the potential drawbacks of using a low reflection member in display devices?

  - Some potential drawbacks may include increased manufacturing costs and potential durability issues.

Original Abstract Submitted

a display device includes: a display module; a window disposed on the display module; and a low reflection member disposed on the window and including a spacer and a nano-protrusion which have different cross-sectional shapes from each other, wherein a first thickness of the spacer is greater than or equal to a second thickness of the nano-protrusion, an upper surface of the spacer has a substantially flat surface that is parallel to an upper surface of the window, and a width of the nano-protrusion gradually reduces as a distance from the window increases.
