DISPLAY PANEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240196658 titled 'DISPLAY PANEL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME

The abstract describes a display panel comprising multiple layers and components including light-emitting elements, encapsulation patterns, and cover layers.

  • The display panel includes a base layer, a pixel defining layer with emission openings, and a partition with corresponding partition openings.
  • Each light-emitting element consists of an anode, a cathode, and an emission pattern between them.
  • Lower encapsulation inorganic patterns partially cover the light-emitting elements and partitions.
  • Cover layers partially overlap the emission openings and lower encapsulation patterns.

Potential Applications:

  • This technology can be used in various display panels, such as OLED screens, to enhance brightness and color accuracy.
  • It can also be applied in electronic devices like smartphones, tablets, and TVs for improved visual performance.

Problems Solved:

  • The technology addresses issues related to light emission efficiency, color consistency, and protection of light-emitting elements.

Benefits:

  • Improved display quality with enhanced brightness and color accuracy.
  • Increased durability and protection for light-emitting elements.
  • Enhanced visual performance in electronic devices.

Commercial Applications:

  • The technology can be utilized in the manufacturing of high-quality display panels for consumer electronics, automotive displays, and signage applications.

Questions about the Technology: 1. How does the technology improve the visual performance of display panels? 2. What are the potential commercial applications of this technology in the consumer electronics industry?

Original Abstract Submitted

a display panel includes a base layer, a pixel defining layer defining a first emission opening and disposed on the base layer, a partition defining a first partition opening corresponding to the first emission opening and disposed on the pixel defining layer, a first light-emitting element including a first anode at least partially exposed by the first emission opening, a first cathode including at least a portion disposed within the first partition opening and contacting the partition, and a first emission pattern disposed between the first anode and the first cathode, a first lower encapsulation inorganic pattern partially overlapping the first emission opening and disposed on the first light-emitting element and the partition, and a first cover layer partially overlapping the first emission opening and disposed on the first lower encapsulation inorganic pattern.
