DISPLAY PANEL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240188334 titled 'DISPLAY PANEL

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a display panel with specific pixel regions and a light-emitting portion, designed to improve display quality and efficiency.

  • The display panel includes a base layer with distinct pixel regions and a non-pixel region.
  • A pixel defining layer with pixel openings corresponding to the pixel regions.
  • A light-emitting portion with a charge generation layer for emitting light.
  • The pixel defining layer has valley and non-valley regions enclosing the pixel openings.

Potential Applications

The technology described in this patent application could be applied in the development of high-resolution display screens for electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions.

Problems Solved

This technology solves the problem of pixel distortion and inefficiency in light emission in display panels, resulting in improved image quality and energy efficiency.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include enhanced display clarity, reduced power consumption, and overall improved performance of electronic devices utilizing these display panels.

Potential Commercial Applications

The potential commercial applications of this technology include the manufacturing of advanced display panels for consumer electronics, leading to more vibrant and energy-efficient screens for various devices.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art for this technology could be the development of OLED display panels with similar pixel organization and light-emitting structures.

What is the manufacturing process for creating the specific pixel regions in the display panel described in the patent application?

The manufacturing process involves depositing different materials in specific patterns to create the distinct pixel regions on the base layer.

How does the light-emitting portion with the charge generation layer contribute to the overall performance of the display panel?

The charge generation layer in the light-emitting portion helps in efficient light emission, resulting in brighter and more uniform display output.

Original Abstract Submitted

provided is a display panel including a base layer including a first pixel region, a second pixel region at least partially spaced apart from the first pixel region in a first direction, and a non-pixel region adjacent to the first and second pixel regions, a pixel defining layer having first and second pixel openings defined in the pixel defining layer and respectively corresponding to the first and second pixel regions, and a light-emitting portion including a charge generation layer, wherein the pixel defining layer includes at least one first valley region and at least one first non-valley region disposed on a first virtual line completely enclosing the first pixel opening and at least one second valley region and at least one second non-valley region disposed on a second virtual line completely enclosing the second pixel opening.
