ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD OF PROVIDING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240106924 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD OF PROVIDING THE SAME

Simplified Explanation

The electronic device described in the patent application includes a display panel with two regions, one of which corresponds to the electronic module, and a lower member with an adhesive layer that has different adhesive strengths in each region. The lower member also includes a functional layer with fillers of specific sizes.

  • The electronic device has a display panel with two regions, one of which corresponds to the electronic module, and a lower member with an adhesive layer that has different adhesive strengths in each region.
  • The lower member includes a functional layer with fillers of specific sizes, providing additional support and stability to the display panel.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops to improve the durability and longevity of the display panels.

Problems Solved

This technology solves the problem of display panel detachment or damage due to varying adhesive strengths and lack of additional support layers.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include increased durability, stability, and longevity of electronic devices with display panels.

Potential Commercial Applications

The potential commercial applications of this technology could be in the consumer electronics industry, specifically in the manufacturing of smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be the use of different adhesive strengths in different regions of electronic devices, but the addition of a functional layer with specific fillers is a unique aspect of this technology.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology compare to existing methods of securing display panels in electronic devices?

This technology offers a more precise and effective way of securing display panels compared to traditional methods, but further comparative studies would be needed to fully assess its advantages.

What impact could this technology have on the overall design and manufacturing process of electronic devices?

This technology could potentially streamline the design and manufacturing process of electronic devices by providing a more efficient and reliable method of securing display panels, but the exact impact would depend on factors such as cost and scalability.

Original Abstract Submitted

an electronic device includes an electronic module which provides a function to the electronic device, a display panel comprising a first region, and a second region which is adjacent to the first region and corresponds to the electronic module, and a lower member below the display panel. the lower member includes an adhesive layer including a first adhesive portion which corresponds to the first region of the display panel and has an adhesive strength, and a second adhesive portion which corresponds to the second region of the display panel and has an adhesive strength lower than that of the first adhesive portion, together with a functional layer which is directly below the first adhesive portion and includes a plurality of fillers which are in a base layer and have an average diameter of about 10 micrometers to about 70 micrometers.
