Medical Data Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240232859 titled 'Medical Data Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

The abstract discusses the implementation of a medical data non-fungible token (NFT) system, where medical data of users is stored and minted as NFTs.

  • Medical data of users is received and stored in a database.
  • A request to purchase a data feed for specific types of medical data is detected.
  • Relevant medical data is identified and stored in a separate location.
  • A medical data NFT is minted to represent the stored data.

Potential Applications: - Securely storing and transferring medical data. - Providing ownership and control of medical data to users. - Facilitating the sale and purchase of medical data feeds.

Problems Solved: - Ensuring the privacy and security of medical data. - Allowing users to monetize their own medical information. - Simplifying the process of accessing and sharing medical data.

Benefits: - Increased data security and privacy. - Empowerment of users in managing their medical information. - Potential for new revenue streams for individuals and organizations.

Commercial Applications: Title: "Revolutionizing Medical Data Ownership and Exchange" This technology could be used in healthcare institutions, research organizations, and data marketplaces to securely manage and exchange medical data, potentially leading to new business models and services in the healthcare industry.

Questions about Medical Data NFTs: 1. How does the minting of a medical data NFT ensure data security and authenticity?

  - The minting process creates a unique token that represents a specific set of medical data, allowing for secure and verifiable ownership.

2. What are the potential legal and ethical considerations surrounding the sale and purchase of medical data NFTs?

  - Legal and ethical issues may arise regarding consent, data ownership, and privacy rights, which need to be carefully addressed in the implementation of this technology.

Original Abstract Submitted

the following relates generally to implementing a medical data non-fungible token (nft). in some embodiments, one or more processors receive medical data of a plurality of users, and store the medical data of the plurality of users in a first storage location in a medical data database. the one or more processors may then detect a request to purchase a data feed for one or more types of medical data, and identify medical data corresponding to the request in the medical data database. the one or more processors may then store the identified medical data in a second storage location, and mint a medical data nft that indicates the second storage location.
