a method of configuring a plurality of parameters of a lighting device; wherein the plurality of parameters are configurable in a configuration mode and in an augmented reality mode; wherein the method comprises the steps of: selecting, in the configuration mode, a configuration set comprising at least one of the plurality of parameters of the lighting device; adjusting, in the configuration mode, the at least one of the plurality of parameters of the selected configuration set; switching to the augmented reality mode upon adjustment of the at least one of the plurality of parameters of the configuration set in the configuration mode and/or based on a user input; rendering, in the augmented reality mode, a virtual model of the lighting device on an image rendering device as an overlay on a view of a physical environment; wherein the model of the lighting device comprises the adjusted at least one of the plurality of parameters of the configuration set; automatically selecting, in the augmented reality mode, a augmented reality subset of the plurality of parameters of the lighting device; and automatically adjusting, in the augmented reality mode, parameters of the selected augmented reality subset based on environmental information of the physical environment upon switching to the augmented reality mode.
