ROAD USAGE CHARGING (RUC) DETERMINATION AND REPORTING TECHNIQUES: abstract simplified (17697792)

Methods, systems, and devices for road usage charging (RUC) are being discussed in this abstract. The computation of RUC can be done by a trusted vehicle computing device (VCD) present in the vehicle. This VCD is trusted by the service provider and charger. It is responsible for collecting accurate time and location data for RUC and calculating the appropriate charge based on the charge policies provided to it. To ensure anonymity, certain portions of the RUC data can be encrypted, which can only be decrypted by specific entities. This reduces the chances of revealing specific vehicle, location, and time information.
