SPECTRUM ACCESS ARBITER ENTITY FOR SHARING SPECTRUM RESOURCES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240267744 titled 'SPECTRUM ACCESS ARBITER ENTITY FOR SHARING SPECTRUM RESOURCES

Simplified Explanation: The patent application relates to wireless communication, where a network node grants access to a shared spectrum resource to an open radio access network distributed unit (O-DU) and authenticates transmissions based on cryptographic checksums.

  • The network node grants access to a shared spectrum resource to an O-DU with a cryptographic checksum.
  • The network node receives transmissions with a cryptographic checksum from the O-DU.
  • The network node authenticates and transmits the received transmissions via the shared spectrum resource based on the checksum verification.
  • The innovation involves secure transmission and authentication of data over shared spectrum resources in wireless communication networks.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Granting access to shared spectrum resources with cryptographic checksums.
  • Authenticating transmissions based on checksum verification.
  • Secure transmission of data over shared spectrum resources in wireless networks.

Potential Applications: The technology can be applied in:

  • 5G and future wireless communication networks.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
  • Industrial automation and control systems.

Problems Solved:

  • Ensures secure transmission of data over shared spectrum resources.
  • Prevents unauthorized access to the spectrum resource.
  • Enhances the overall security of wireless communication networks.

Benefits:

  • Improved data security in wireless communication.
  • Efficient utilization of shared spectrum resources.
  • Enhanced reliability of data transmissions.

Commercial Applications: Potential commercial uses include:

  • Telecommunication companies for secure data transmission.
  • IoT device manufacturers for secure connectivity.
  • Industrial automation companies for reliable communication.

Prior Art: Prior research may include studies on secure transmission protocols in wireless networks and spectrum sharing technologies.

Frequently Updated Research: Ongoing research on enhancing the security and efficiency of data transmission in wireless communication networks.

Questions about Wireless Communication: 1. How does the technology ensure the authenticity of transmissions over shared spectrum resources? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this technology in real-world wireless networks?

Original Abstract Submitted

various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. in some aspects, a network node may transmit, to an open radio access network distributed unit (o-du) associated with the network node, a grant that permits use of a shared spectrum resource, the grant indicating a first cryptographic checksum for a given timeslot in which the shared spectrum resource is granted. the network node may receive, from the o-du, a transmission that includes a second cryptographic checksum. the network node may transmit the transmission via the shared spectrum resource based at least in part on an authentication of the transmission, the authentication involving the grant being accepted by the open radio access network radio unit (o-ru) based at least in part on a verification that the second cryptographic checksum corresponds to the first cryptographic checksum. numerous other aspects are described.
