INTELLIGENT CLOUD-EDGE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240195867 titled 'INTELLIGENT CLOUD-EDGE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
The patent application discusses systems, methods, and apparatuses for intelligent cloud-edge resource management. An end device can provide edge nodes with network link information to optimize task workload distribution and scheduling, enhancing performance, power efficiency, security, and network availability.
- The end device can transmit processing task requests to edge nodes, which can then assign tasks to other nodes based on network link information.
- The end device can also send processing task parameters to edge nodes and receive estimated completion times, allowing it to assign tasks to nodes with the shortest completion time.
Potential Applications: - Cloud computing systems - Edge computing networks - Internet of Things (IoT) devices - Mobile computing applications
Problems Solved: - Inefficient task workload distribution - Lack of real-time network link information - Suboptimal task scheduling in edge computing systems
Benefits: - Improved performance and power efficiency - Enhanced security and network availability - Optimized task workload distribution
Commercial Applications: Intelligent resource management software for cloud-edge computing systems
Prior Art: Research on edge computing resource management and task scheduling algorithms
Frequently Updated Research: Ongoing studies on optimizing task distribution in edge computing systems
Questions about Intelligent Cloud-Edge Resource Management: 1. How does network link information improve task workload distribution in edge computing systems? 2. What are the key benefits of intelligent resource management in cloud-edge computing environments?
Original Abstract Submitted
this disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for intelligent cloud-edge resource management. an end device may provide edge nodes of an edge computing system with network link information, which may enable the edge nodes to schedule and distribute task workloads more effectively, providing greater performance, power, security, and mission-critical network availability. for example, if the end device transmits a processing task request to a first edge node, the first edge node may assign the processing task to a second edge node according to the network link information. additionally, or alternatively, the end device may transmit an indication of processing task parameters to one or more edge nodes and may receive an indication of an estimated completion time of the processing task from the one or more edge nodes. accordingly, the end device may assign the processing task to an edge node with the lowest completion time.
