LOCATION-BASED SERVICE ACCESS FOR VEHICLE-TO-EVERYTHING (V2X) SYSTEMS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240187828 titled 'LOCATION-BASED SERVICE ACCESS FOR VEHICLE-TO-EVERYTHING (V2X) SYSTEMS

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications, where a user equipment (UE) such as a vehicle can access a location-based service provided by a roadside unit (RSU). The RSU generates a network address associated with the service and broadcasts it to the UE via a sidelink message. The UE then accesses the service through a connection with a base station using the network address, based on its location, and receives location-based information.

  • User equipment (UE) can access a location-based service provided by a roadside unit (RSU).
  • RSU generates a network address associated with the service and broadcasts it to the UE via a sidelink message.
  • UE accesses the service through a connection with a base station using the network address, based on its location.
  • UE receives location-based information from the service over the connection with the base station.

Original Abstract Submitted

methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. a user equipment (ue), such as a vehicle, may access a location-based service using information provided by a roadside unit (rsu). for example, the rsu may generate an indication of a network address associated with the location-based service and may broadcast a sidelink message that includes the indication of the network address to the ue. the ue may receive the sidelink message and may access the location-based service over a connection with a base station using the network address. the ue may access the location-based service based on a location of the ue and may receive location-based information from the location-based service over the connection with the base station.
