IMAGING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240340523 titled 'IMAGING APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation: The imaging apparatus described in the patent application includes an image sensor, an image processor, a storage, and a user interface. The image processor adjusts images based on user-defined parameter sets and converts color information using designated parameter sets.

  • The imaging apparatus includes an image sensor that generates original image data.
  • An image processor performs image processing to generate image data.
  • A storage stores multiple first parameter sets and at least one second parameter set.
  • A user interface allows users to combine different parameter sets through operations.
  • The first parameter sets define the effect in image processing, while the second parameter sets define color information conversion.
  • Based on user operations, the image processor adjusts images using the first parameter set and converts color information using the second parameter set.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • User-defined parameter sets for adjusting images and converting color information.
  • Storage of multiple parameter sets for flexible image processing.
  • User interface for easy combination of parameter sets.
  • Precise color information conversion before and after image adjustments.
  • Customizable image processing effects.

Potential Applications: The technology can be used in various imaging applications such as photography, video editing, medical imaging, and satellite imaging.

Problems Solved: The technology addresses the need for precise image adjustments and color information conversion in image processing.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced control over image processing effects.
  • Improved color accuracy in image conversions.
  • User-friendly interface for parameter set combinations.

Original Abstract Submitted

an imaging apparatus includes: an image sensor generating original image data; an image processor performing image processing to generate image data; a storage storing a plurality of first parameter sets and at least one second parameter set; and a user interface receiving a user operation combining a first parameter set with a second parameter set. each of the plurality of first parameter sets defines the effect in the image processing. each of the at least one second parameter set defines a correspondence before and after color information in an image is converted. based on the user operation, the image processor: adjusts an image indicated by the original image data, using the first parameter set included in the combination designated by the user operation; and converts color information included in the image adjusted by the first parameter set, using the second parameter set included in the designated combination.
