METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT FOR PRODUCING SOUND IN AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240244366 titled 'METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT FOR PRODUCING SOUND IN AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE

The arrangement in the patent application involves a magnetic vibrator and a piezoelectric vibrator connected to a common audio amplifier, both receiving electrical signals from the same audio output.

  • The arrangement includes a magnetic vibrator with permanent magnets and an induction coil.
  • It also features a piezoelectric vibrator made of piezoelectric material for generating audio-frequency vibrations.
  • Both vibrators share a common audio amplifier, simplifying the sound production process.
  • The magnetic vibrator and piezoelectric vibrator are supplied with electrical signals from the same audio output.
  • The piezoelectric material deforms to produce vibrations when supplied with the second electrical signal.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops for audio output. - It can also be applied in wearable technology like smartwatches and fitness trackers for sound notifications.

Problems Solved: - Simplifies the sound production process in electronic devices. - Enhances audio quality and efficiency in small electronic devices.

Benefits: - Improved sound quality in electronic devices. - Cost-effective solution for audio output in small devices. - Streamlined manufacturing process for electronic devices.

Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Sound Production Arrangement for Electronic Devices This technology can be utilized in the consumer electronics industry for manufacturing devices with enhanced audio capabilities, leading to better user experiences and increased market competitiveness.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the magnetic vibrator differ from the piezoelectric vibrator in terms of sound production? The magnetic vibrator uses permanent magnets and an induction coil, while the piezoelectric vibrator relies on piezoelectric material for generating vibrations. 2. What are the potential cost savings associated with using a common audio amplifier for both vibrators? By sharing a common audio amplifier, manufacturers can reduce production costs and simplify the design of electronic devices.

Original Abstract Submitted

an arrangement for producing sound in an electronic device comprises a magnetic vibrator comprising a first part and a second part provided with permanent magnets, and at least one induction coil. the arrangement further comprises a piezoelectric vibrator comprising piezoelectric material for generating audio-frequency vibrations resulting from deformations of the material by supplying to said material a second electrical signal. the magnetic vibrator and the piezoelectric vibrator have a common audio amplifier. said first and second electrical signal are supplied from the same audio output to the magnetic vibrator and the piezoelectric vibrator.
