MEASUREMENT REPORTING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240340678 titled 'MEASUREMENT REPORTING

The abstract describes a method involving the transmission of a request message from a first radio access network node to a second node, requesting measurements with priority information, and receiving a response message indicating if the measurements can be provided.

  • The method involves requesting measurements with priority levels, allowing for efficient allocation of resources.
  • The response message helps in determining if the requested measurements can be obtained, aiding in network optimization.
  • This technology enhances communication between radio access network nodes, improving network performance and resource management.
  • By prioritizing measurements, the method ensures that critical data is obtained promptly, enhancing overall network efficiency.
  • The method can be applied in various wireless communication systems to optimize resource utilization and improve network reliability.

Potential Applications: - Wireless communication networks - Internet of Things (IoT) devices - Mobile telecommunications systems

Problems Solved: - Efficient allocation of resources in wireless networks - Prioritization of measurements for improved network performance

Benefits: - Enhanced network efficiency - Improved resource management - Faster response times for critical measurements

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Resource Allocation in Wireless Networks" This technology can be utilized by telecommunications companies to optimize their network performance, leading to better service quality for customers and more efficient resource utilization. It can also benefit IoT companies by ensuring timely and accurate data collection from connected devices.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the prioritization of measurements improve network efficiency? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this method in existing wireless networks?

Original Abstract Submitted

disclosed is a method comprising transmitting, by a first radio access network node, to a second radio access network node, a request message for requesting one or more measurements, wherein the request message comprises priority information indicating a priority level per a measurement of the one or more measurements; and receiving, by the first radio access network node, from the second radio access network node, a response message indicating whether or not at least one of the one or more measurements can be provided from the second radio access network node.
