SHOPPING GUIDING WITH ROBOT ASSISTANCE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240249291 titled 'SHOPPING GUIDING WITH ROBOT ASSISTANCE

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a shopping guiding system with robot assistance. It involves obtaining a shopping list from a customer, determining a set of commodities based on predicted picking up costs, and assigning robots to pick up the selected commodities automatically.

  • The system uses predicted picking up costs to determine which commodities to pick up first.
  • Robots are assigned to pick up the selected commodities, increasing efficiency and reducing safety risks in shopping.

Potential Applications: 1. Retail stores can use this technology to streamline the shopping process for customers. 2. Grocery stores can implement this system to improve efficiency in picking up items. 3. Warehouse facilities can utilize robots for automated picking of commodities.

Problems Solved: 1. Inefficient shopping processes. 2. Safety risks associated with manual picking of commodities. 3. Lack of automation in the shopping experience.

Benefits: 1. Increased efficiency in shopping. 2. Reduced safety risks for customers and employees. 3. Enhanced automation in the shopping process.

Commercial Applications: Automated Shopping Assistance System: Revolutionizing the shopping experience with robot-guided picking of commodities.

Prior Art: Prior research in the field of robotics and automation in retail and warehouse settings can provide insights into similar technologies.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on advancements in robotics and automation for shopping assistance to enhance the efficiency and safety of the process.

Questions about Automated Shopping Assistance System: 1. How does the system determine the picking up costs for commodities? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing robot-assisted shopping systems in different retail environments?

Original Abstract Submitted

a shopping guiding with robot assistance. a shopping list () of a customer () is obtained, wherein the shopping list () comprises a plurality of commodities to be picked up. further, a first set of commodities () are determined from the plurality of commodities based on predicted picking up costs for the plurality of commodities, and at least one robot () are assigned for automatically picking up the first set of commodities (). as such, at least one robot () may be assigned for picking up commodities with a relative high picking up cost, thereby increasing the efficiency for shopping and decreasing the safety risks.
