SMOKING CAPSULE WITH HIGH EMISSIVITY PORTION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240237707 titled 'SMOKING CAPSULE WITH HIGH EMISSIVITY PORTION

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes an apparatus and methods for a smoking device with an infrared temperature sensor, a capsule containing smoking material with active agents, and a metallic foil that vaporizes the active agents when heated by the device. The foil is coated to enhance temperature detection and has a high emissivity value.

  • The smoking device includes an infrared temperature sensor.
  • A capsule contains smoking material with active agents.
  • A metallic foil surrounds the smoking material and vaporizes the active agents when heated.
  • The foil is coated for better temperature detection.
  • The foil has a high emissivity value of at least 0.5.

Potential Applications: - Smoking devices - Medical devices for controlled substance delivery - Research and development in vaporization technology

Problems Solved: - Controlled vaporization of active agents - Accurate temperature monitoring - Efficient delivery of substances

Benefits: - Precise control over vaporization process - Enhanced user experience - Improved safety features

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Smoking Device Technology for Controlled Substance Delivery This technology can be used in the development of advanced smoking devices for both recreational and medical purposes. It has the potential to revolutionize the way active agents are delivered and controlled in various applications, including pharmaceuticals, research, and consumer products.

Questions about Smoking Device Technology: 1. How does the metallic foil enhance the vaporization process? 2. What are the potential safety implications of using this technology for substance delivery?

Original Abstract Submitted

apparatus and methods are provided for use with a smoking device that includes an infrared temperature sensor. a capsule includes a smoking material containing one or more active agents. a metallic foil is disposed around at least a portion of the smoking material, the metallic foil being configured to vaporize one or more of the active agents from within the smoking material, by the metallic foil being heated by the smoking device via resistive heating. a coating is disposed around at least a portion of the metallic foil at which the infrared temperature sensor is configured to detect a temperature of the capsule, and/or the portion of the metallic foil is treated, such that the portion of the metallic foil has an emissivity value of at least 0.5. other applications are also described.
