DATA INTEGRITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMMING TECHNIQUES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240296879 titled 'DATA INTEGRITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMMING TECHNIQUES

The abstract describes methods, systems, and devices for improving data integrity in memory systems.

  • Memory systems can be pre-programmed with data before assembly, which may impact data integrity.
  • Additional data can be programmed or data characteristics adjusted to improve data integrity of the affected portion.
  • A start-up procedure can identify when a refresh operation is needed to improve data integrity.
  • The memory system can use the additional data or adjusted data characteristics to perform the refresh operation and mitigate performance issues.

Potential Applications: - Data storage systems - Computer memory systems - Embedded systems

Problems Solved: - Data integrity issues in memory systems - Performance issues related to data refresh operations

Benefits: - Improved data integrity - Enhanced performance of memory systems

Commercial Applications: - Data centers - Cloud computing services - IoT devices

Questions about data integrity improvement: 1. How does pre-programming data in memory systems help improve data integrity?

  - Pre-programming data allows for adjustments to be made before assembly, ensuring better data integrity.

2. What are the benefits of using additional data for refresh operations in memory systems?

  - Using additional data can enhance data integrity and mitigate performance issues during refresh operations.

Original Abstract Submitted

methods, systems, and devices for data integrity improvement programming techniques are described. a memory system may be pre-programed with data prior to assembling the memory system, where assembling the memory system may adversely affect data integrity of a portion of the data. the data integrity of the portion of the data may be improved by programming additional data to the memory system or adjusting data characteristics associated with the portion of the data. the memory system may perform a start-up procedure in which the memory system may identify an indication to perform a refresh operation. the memory system may perform a refresh operation using the additional data programmed to the memory system or using the adjusted data characteristics to improve the data integrity of the portion of the data and mitigate performance issues otherwise associated with performing the refresh operation.
