On-Demand NDM DMRS for O-RAN-Based Radio Access Networks - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240348398 titled 'On-Demand NDM DMRS for O-RAN-Based Radio Access Networks
Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a system and method for messaging between an open radio access network distributed unit (O-DU) and an open radio access network radio unit (O-RU) to improve beamforming and transfer demodulation reference signal (DMRS) data on-demand.
Key Features and Innovation:
- System for non-delay managed DMRS transfer between O-DU and O-RU.
- O-DU sends DMRS configuration information to O-RU for improved beamforming.
- O-RU extracts non-port-reduced DMRS data and transmits it to O-DU.
- Non-port-reduced DMRS transfer triggered based on user Doppler speed and inter-cell interference level.
Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in 5G networks, wireless communication systems, and mobile network infrastructure for enhanced beamforming and channel state information updates.
Problems Solved: Addresses the need for improved DMRS transfer for better beamforming and channel state information updates in wireless communication systems.
Benefits:
- Enhanced beamforming capabilities.
- Improved update rate of channel state information.
- Efficient management of DMRS data transfer.
Commercial Applications: Potential commercial applications include telecommunications companies, network equipment manufacturers, and providers of wireless communication solutions looking to enhance network performance and efficiency.
Prior Art: Readers can explore prior art related to this technology in the field of wireless communication systems, 5G networks, and beamforming techniques.
Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on the latest advancements in 5G network technology, beamforming algorithms, and wireless communication standards to further enhance the capabilities of this system.
Questions about the Technology: 1. What are the specific technical requirements for implementing this system in a 5G network? 2. How does this technology contribute to reducing inter-cell interference in wireless communication systems?
Original Abstract Submitted
a system and method for providing messaging between an open radio access network distributed unit (o-du) and an open radio access network radio unit (o-ru) for on-demand non-delay-managed demodulation reference signal (dmrs) transfer and improving beamforming. an o-du sending a request message with demodulation reference signal (dmrs) configuration information to an o-ru, and the o-ru extracts non-port-reduced dmrs data and transmits it in a non-delay managed manner to the o-du. the o-du identifies one or more users that need an improved update rate of channel state information and triggers the non-port-reduced dmrs transfer based on at least a doppler speed of the user and/or an inter-cell interference level due to user density.
