METHOD OF TREATMENT OF ANIMAL MANURE FOR BIOGAS PRODUCTION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240294949 titled 'METHOD OF TREATMENT OF ANIMAL MANURE FOR BIOGAS PRODUCTION

    • Simplified Explanation:**

The patent application describes a method of processing animal manure with biosolids to produce animal manure digestate and biogas. This involves heating the manure, adjusting its pH, shearing the biosolids, and subjecting the mixture to anaerobic digestion.

    • Key Features and Innovation:**
  • Heating animal manure to a specific temperature for hydrolysis.
  • Adjusting the pH of the manure to a target hydrolysis pH.
  • Shearing biosolids to produce hydrolyzed animal manure digestate.
  • Anaerobic digestion of the digestate to produce biogas.
    • Potential Applications:**

This technology can be used in agricultural settings, waste management facilities, and biogas production plants.

    • Problems Solved:**

The method helps in efficient processing of animal manure and biosolids, reducing waste and producing valuable biogas for energy generation.

    • Benefits:**
  • Sustainable waste management.
  • Production of renewable energy.
  • Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
    • Commercial Applications:**

Potential commercial applications include use in biogas plants, agricultural operations, and waste treatment facilities.

    • Prior Art:**

Prior art related to this technology may include patents or research on anaerobic digestion of organic waste materials.

    • Frequently Updated Research:**

Stay updated on advancements in anaerobic digestion technology, waste management practices, and renewable energy production.

    • Questions about Animal Manure Processing:**

1. How does the method of adjusting the pH of animal manure impact the efficiency of the process? 2. What are the potential challenges in scaling up this technology for commercial applications?

Original Abstract Submitted

a method of processing an animal manure that includes biosolids to provide an output animal manure digestate and an output biogas. the method includes heating the animal manure to a predetermined hydrolysis temperature for a preselected hydrolysis time period. in addition, a ph of the animal manure is caused to be a target hydrolysis ph. the biosolids are subjected to shearing, to produce a hydrolyzed animal manure digestate. after the hydrolysis time period, the hydrolyzed animal manure digestate is subjected to anaerobic digestion at a predetermined anaerobic digestion temperature for a preselected anaerobic digestion time period, to produce the output animal manure digestate and the output biogas.
