DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240192821 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE

The patent application describes a display device with a touch sensing structure in the active area and touch pads in the non-active area, connected by touch link lines.

  • Touch electrodes and touch pads are aligned in the same direction.
  • Some touch link lines have a zigzag shape.
  • Touch link lines in the non-active area have equal resistance due to different configurations.
  • The innovation aims to improve touch sensitivity and accuracy in display devices.

Potential Applications: - Touchscreen devices - Interactive displays - Smartphones and tablets

Problems Solved: - Enhancing touch sensitivity - Improving touch accuracy - Optimizing display device performance

Benefits: - Enhanced user experience - Increased touch responsiveness - Improved overall functionality

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Touch Display Technology for Interactive Devices" This technology can be utilized in various consumer electronics, automotive displays, and industrial control panels, enhancing user interaction and device performance in a competitive market.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the zigzag shape of touch link lines improve touch sensitivity? 2. What are the specific advantages of having touch pads in the non-active area?

Original Abstract Submitted

a display device may include an active area and a non-active area; a touch sensing structure disposed in the active area and including touch electrodes; touch pads disposed in the non-active area and electrically connected to the touch electrodes; and touch link lines connecting the touch pads and the touch electrodes and disposed in the non-active area. the touch electrodes and the touch pads may be disposed along the same one direction. at least a portion of at least one of the touch link lines may have a zigzag shape. the touch link lines disposed in the non-active area may have equal resistance by having different configurations or shapes of the touch link lines.
