the present specification relates to a method by which a source device transmits audio data in a short-range wireless communication system, and to an apparatus for same. the method proposed in the present specification comprises the steps of: establishing a connection with a sink device; performing a setup procedure for transmitting the audio data with the sink device on the basis of the established connection; and transmitting, to the sink device, the audio data on the basis of the setup procedure, wherein the steps of performing a setup procedure further comprises a step of transmitting, to the sink device, timing information on a transmission timing of the audio data and metadata information for transmission of the audio data, and the audio data is transmitted without transmission of a periodic advertisement message for transmitting the timing information and the metadata information.
