an aerosol-generating device is disclosed. the aerosol-generating device of the disclosure includes a heater configured to heat an aerosol-generating substance, a memory including a plurality of areas configured to store the histories of events occurring in the aerosol-generating device therein, and a controller. each of the plurality of areas includes a plurality of storage spaces storing the histories. when a predetermined event occurs, the controller stores the history of the predetermined event in a predetermined area set to a storage area, among the plurality of areas. when the predetermined event corresponds to a predetermined error event, the controller changes the storage area.
