SLIDING DOOR DEVICE FOR VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240309688 titled 'SLIDING DOOR DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
The patent application describes a sliding door device for a vehicle that is located at the lateral side of a chassis cab and can slide in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle to open or close an opening in the chassis cab.
- Pair of sliding rails on the upper and lower portions of the chassis cab curve rearward towards the cab frame.
- Doors are slidable along the sliding rails and are positioned so that their upper-end surfaces align with the chassis cab's upper-end surface when not slid, but protrude outwardly when slid.
Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in various types of vehicles such as trucks, vans, or buses. - It can also be applied in industrial settings where sliding doors are needed for access control or partitioning.
Problems Solved: - Provides a space-saving solution for vehicles with limited lateral space for traditional door openings. - Offers a convenient way to open and close doors without requiring additional clearance for swinging doors.
Benefits: - Enhanced accessibility and convenience for passengers entering and exiting the vehicle. - Improved safety by preventing doors from swinging open unexpectedly in tight spaces.
Commercial Applications: Sliding door devices like this could be highly beneficial in the commercial transportation industry, where efficiency and space optimization are crucial. This innovation could also find applications in the construction and logistics sectors.
Questions about Sliding Door Device for Vehicles: 1. How does this sliding door device improve the overall functionality of a vehicle? 2. What materials are typically used in manufacturing sliding door devices for vehicles?
Original Abstract Submitted
a sliding door device for a vehicle is provided at a lateral side of a chassis cab of a vehicle to slide in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle and configured to open or close an opening formed in the chassis cab and includes: a pair of sliding rails provided on at least one of upper and lower portions of the chassis cab, extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and each including a shape curved rearward toward the cab frame, and doors configured to be slidable along the sliding rails and positioned so that upper-end surfaces thereof are positioned without a level difference from an upper-end surface of the chassis cab in a state in which the doors are not slid, the doors being positioned so that the upper-end surfaces thereof protrude outwardly from the upper-end surface of the chassis cab in a state in which the doors are slid.
