SUSPENSION FOR A VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240092131 titled 'SUSPENSION FOR A VEHICLE

Simplified Explanation

The suspension for a vehicle described in the patent application involves a bolt being screw-fastened to a stud part of a ball joint while the stud part is inserted into a knuckle. The outer diameter of the stud part is increased during fastening to couple the stud part and the knuckle together without changing the position of the hard point corresponding to the center of the ball joint.

  • Configuration for vehicle suspension:
 - Bolt screw-fastened to stud part of ball joint
 - Stud part inserted into knuckle
 - Outer diameter of stud part increased during fastening
 - Hard point position remains unchanged
    • Potential Applications:**

- Automotive industry for vehicle suspension systems

    • Problems Solved:**

- Maintains the position of the hard point in the ball joint - Ensures proper coupling of the stud part and knuckle

    • Benefits:**

- Improved stability and performance of the vehicle - Prevents misalignment of suspension components

    • Potential Commercial Applications:**

- Suspension system manufacturers - Automotive repair shops

    • Possible Prior Art:**

- Previous patents related to vehicle suspension systems and ball joint configurations

      1. Unanswered Questions:
        1. How does this suspension configuration impact vehicle handling and ride comfort?

The patent application does not provide specific details on the effects of this suspension configuration on vehicle handling and ride comfort. Further testing and analysis may be needed to determine the impact.

        1. Are there any potential drawbacks or limitations to this suspension design?

The patent application does not mention any drawbacks or limitations of this suspension design. Additional research and real-world testing could reveal any potential issues that may arise with this configuration.

Original Abstract Submitted

a suspension for a vehicle provides a configuration in which a bolt is screw-fastened to a stud part of a ball joint in a state in which the stud part is inserted into a knuckle, an outer diameter of the stud part is increased at the time of fastening the bolt so that the stud part and the knuckle are coupled to each other. thus, a position of a hard point corresponding to a center of the ball joint is not changed when the ball joint is coupled by the bolt.
