the present disclosure relates to communication methods and apparatuses. in one example method, a communication device performs listen before talk (lbt) detection. the communication device sends first information based on a target event, where the first information includes detection information of the lbt detection. the target event includes any one of that the lbt detection has a potential risk, that a communication process between the communication device and a network device has a potential risk, that the lbt detection fails, and that the communication process between the communication device and the network device fails. the communication process between the communication device and the network device is performed based on the lbt detection.
