COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240244497 titled 'COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS
The abstract of this patent application describes a communication method and apparatus that involve offloading packets in a visited network.
- First session management network element determines an offloading point in a visited network based on specific information.
- The offloading rule is then sent to the offloading point for packet offloading in the visited network.
- Terminal devices can access services in the visited network through the offloading point, enabling local offloading.
Potential Applications: - Mobile network communication - Roaming services - Network optimization
Problems Solved: - Efficient packet offloading in visited networks - Seamless access to services while roaming - Local offloading implementation
Benefits: - Improved network performance - Enhanced user experience while roaming - Cost-effective communication solutions
Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Communication Method for Visited Networks" This technology can be utilized by mobile network operators to optimize network resources, improve service delivery, and enhance user experience, ultimately leading to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Questions about the technology: 1. How does this communication method benefit mobile network operators in terms of network management and performance optimization? 2. What are the key differences between local offloading and traditional packet routing methods in mobile networks?
Original Abstract Submitted
this application provides a communication method and apparatus. the method may include: a first session management network element determines an offloading point in a visited network based on first information, where the first information indicates that offloading is allowed in the visited network, and the first session management network element is a network element deployed in the visited network; and the first session management network element sends an offloading rule to the offloading point, where the offloading rule is for offloading a packet to the visited network. according to this application, after accessing the visited network through hr roaming, a terminal device may access a service in the visited network by using the offloading point determined by the first session management network element, to implement local offloading in the visited network.
