Application Keepalive Method, Electronic Device, and Storage Medium - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240220313 titled 'Application Keepalive Method, Electronic Device, and Storage Medium

Simplified Explanation: The method described in the abstract involves a first application creating a unique identifier for an object when it detects a second application obtaining information from it. The first application then adds the second application's identification information to a subscription list for the object. If the operating system of the device needs to free up resources by killing applications, it will extend the first application's lifespan if the second application is on the subscription list.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Creation of unique identifiers for objects in response to information sharing between applications.
  • Subscription list management to prioritize applications for resource allocation.
  • Extension of application lifespan based on subscription list inclusion.

Potential Applications: This technology could be applied in mobile devices, IoT systems, and cloud computing platforms to optimize resource allocation and enhance application performance.

Problems Solved:

  • Efficient management of system resources.
  • Prioritization of applications based on usage patterns.
  • Enhanced user experience through improved application responsiveness.

Benefits:

  • Increased system stability.
  • Improved performance for critical applications.
  • Enhanced user satisfaction with smoother operation.

Commercial Applications: The technology could be valuable for mobile device manufacturers, cloud service providers, and IoT solution developers to offer more reliable and responsive systems to their customers.

Prior Art: Researchers interested in this technology may want to explore prior work on resource management in operating systems, application lifecycle management, and inter-application communication protocols.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay informed about the latest developments in operating system optimization, application performance tuning, and resource allocation strategies to leverage this technology effectively.

Questions about the Technology: 1. How does the unique identifier system improve resource management in the described method? 2. What are the potential implications of extending application lifespan based on subscription lists for system performance and user experience?

Original Abstract Submitted

a method includes that, when detecting that a second application obtains first information in the first application, a first application creates a first object, and generates a unique identifier of the first object to send the unique identifier of the first object to the second application. the first application receives a subscription request that is sent by the second application. the first application adds identification information of the second application to a subscription list of the first object. when an operating system of the first device needs to forcibly kill some applications running on the first device to release system resources due to a limitation of the system resources, the operating system of the first device prolongs a time to live of the first application if the subscription list of the first object includes the identification information of the second application.
