a data transmission method and an apparatus are provided. in the method, a terminal receives configured grant (cg) information from a network device; obtains a configured quantity n of transport blocks (tbs) in a cg periodicity based on the cg information, where the configured quantity n of tbs is a maximum quantity of tbs transmittable in the cg periodicity, and n is an integer greater than 0; and sends, to the network device in the cg periodicity, uplink data corresponding to m tb, where mis an integer greater than 0 and less than or equal to n. according to the method, complete transmission of an extended reality (xr) video frame can be completed in the cg periodicity, thereby improving user experience of receiving an xr service.
