this application discloses a cell reselection method and an apparatus. the method includes: a terminal receives first indication information indicating one or more positioning areas, each of the one or more positioning areas includes a plurality of cells having same resource configuration information; and the terminal performs cell reselection in accordance with the first indication information to reselect a cell in the positioning area.
