this application provides a communication method and apparatus, and relates to the field of wireless communication. a first node may send first configuration information on a first frequency hopping channel (s501), to configure a communication link between at least two second nodes. the communication link includes a direct link between the at least two second nodes, and the first node is a master node of at least one second node in the two second nodes corresponding to the direct link. in the foregoing method, the first node may configure the communication link between the at least two second nodes. therefore, a conflict between a resource of the direct link and a resource of a master and slave communication link can be avoided, thereby improving communication performance.
