this application provides a communication method and an apparatus, to improve uplink transmission efficiency and performance. the method includes: a first terminal apparatus receives first configuration information from a network device, where the first configuration information indicates an identifier of a second terminal apparatus and information about a first frequency band, and the first frequency band is a frequency band supported by the second terminal apparatus; and the first terminal apparatus transmits uplink data to the network device on the first frequency band and a second frequency band that is supported by the first terminal apparatus.
