TRAFFIC SAFETY SUPPORT SYSTEM AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240112581 titled 'TRAFFIC SAFETY SUPPORT SYSTEM AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The coordination support device described in the abstract is a system that can recognize traffic participants, predict their future movements, and notify relevant parties about potential collisions.

  • Target Traffic Area Recognizer: Identifies traffic participants
  • Predictor: Predicts future movements of traffic participants
  • Coordination Support Information Notifier: Notifies relevant parties about potential collisions
  • Group Classifier: Divides traffic participants into moving groups
  • First Predictor: Predicts collisions among moving groups and specifies collision sites
  • Second Predictor: Determines specific traffic participants involved in potential collisions

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in autonomous vehicles, traffic management systems, and pedestrian safety systems.

Problems Solved

This technology helps prevent collisions, improves traffic flow, and enhances overall safety on the roads.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include reducing accidents, optimizing traffic coordination, and increasing efficiency in transportation systems.

Potential Commercial Applications

Potential commercial applications include integrating this technology into autonomous vehicles, traffic control centers, and smart city infrastructure.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be collision avoidance systems in autonomous vehicles, which also aim to predict and prevent collisions on the road.

Unanswered Questions

How accurate are the collision predictions made by the system?

The abstract does not provide information on the accuracy of the collision predictions made by the system.

What is the range of the coordination support device?

The abstract does not mention the range or coverage area of the coordination support device.

Original Abstract Submitted

a coordination support device includes a target traffic area recognizer configured to recognize traffic participants, a predictor configured to predict futures of a plurality of the traffic participants, and a coordination support information notifier configured to notify notification targets. the predictor includes a group classifier configured to divide the plurality of traffic participants into a plurality of moving groups g to g and acquire moving group information, a first predictor configured to predict whether or not a collision will occur among the moving groups g to g on the basis of the moving group information and specifies collision sites in the moving groups that are predicted to collide, and a second predictor configured to determine two or more specific traffic participants among the plurality of traffic participants on the basis of the collision sites and predict whether or not a collision will occur among the specific traffic participants.
