VIRTUAL SPACE PRODUCTION APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240273826 titled 'VIRTUAL SPACE PRODUCTION APPARATUS

The patent application describes a virtual space production apparatus that includes an audio-visual device, a vibration actuator, a VR controller, an information obtainer, and a determiner.

  • The audio-visual device provides AV information to an occupant of a moving body.
  • The vibration actuator generates load related to the vibration of the moving body.
  • The VR controller controls the AV device and the vibration actuator.
  • The information obtainer obtains tilt information indicating the tilt angle of the moving body.
  • The determiner determines whether the moving body is in a tilted state based on the tilt information.
  • When the moving body is tilted beyond a predetermined threshold, the VR controller reduces the vibration actuator's drive amount.

Potential Applications: - Virtual reality gaming experiences - Simulation training for vehicle operators - Entertainment industry for immersive experiences

Problems Solved: - Enhancing the realism of virtual experiences by incorporating physical feedback - Improving user engagement and immersion in virtual environments

Benefits: - Increased user satisfaction and enjoyment - Enhanced training effectiveness for various applications - Realistic and immersive virtual experiences

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Virtual Reality Experience Apparatus" This technology can be utilized in gaming, training simulations, theme park attractions, and virtual reality arcades to provide users with a more immersive and engaging experience.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the apparatus enhance the realism of virtual experiences? - The apparatus provides physical feedback through vibration actuators, enhancing the user's immersion in virtual environments. 2. What are the potential applications of this technology beyond entertainment? - This technology can be used in various industries such as healthcare for simulations and training, and in engineering for virtual prototyping and design.

Original Abstract Submitted

a virtual space production apparatus includes: an audio visual (av) device configured to provide av information to an occupant of a moving body; an sus actuator configured to generate load relating to vibration of the moving body; a vr controller configured to control the av device and the sus actuator; an information obtainer configured to obtain tilt information indicating the tilt angle of the moving body; and a determiner configured to determine whether or not the moving body is in a tilted state where the moving body is tilted greater than a predetermined tilt angle threshold, based on the tilt information indicating the tilt angle of the moving body. when the moving body is tilted greater than the predetermined first tilt angle threshold, the vr controller reduces a drive amount of the sus actuator to an amount smaller than that in a normal state where the moving body is not in the tilted state.
