VEHICLE VIDEO RECORDING FRAMEWORK - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240282114 titled 'VEHICLE VIDEO RECORDING FRAMEWORK

The system described in the patent application is designed to process multiple video recordings captured by a vehicle's camera system. The system includes a camera buffer, a video storage device, a vehicle communication system, and a vehicle controller.

  • The camera system captures video recordings and stores them in the camera buffer.
  • The vehicle controller selects one of the video recordings to generate an event video file.
  • The event video file is saved to the video storage device.
  • The vehicle controller uploads the event video file to a remote server using the vehicle communication system.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Efficient processing of multiple video recordings from a vehicle's camera system.
  • Automatic generation of event video files based on selected recordings.
  • Seamless upload of event video files to a remote server for storage and analysis.

Potential Applications:

  • Vehicle surveillance and security systems.
  • Fleet management and monitoring.
  • Insurance claims processing for accidents and incidents.

Problems Solved:

  • Streamlining the handling of video recordings from vehicle cameras.
  • Simplifying the generation and storage of event video files.
  • Enhancing communication between vehicles and remote servers.

Benefits:

  • Improved efficiency in managing video data.
  • Enhanced security and monitoring capabilities for vehicles.
  • Simplified processes for analyzing and storing video evidence.

Commercial Applications:

  • This technology could be utilized by companies offering vehicle tracking and surveillance services.
  • Insurance companies could benefit from the streamlined process of handling video evidence for claims processing.

Questions about the Technology: 1. How does the system prioritize which video recordings to generate event video files from? 2. What measures are in place to ensure the secure transfer of event video files to the remote server?

Frequently Updated Research: There may be ongoing research in the field of vehicle camera systems and data processing technologies that could impact the development and implementation of this system. It is important to stay informed about advancements in this area to ensure the system remains up-to-date and effective.
