HEAD-MOUNTED DEVICE AND AUGMENTED REALITY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240241387 titled 'HEAD-MOUNTED DEVICE AND AUGMENTED REALITY DEVICE

The abstract describes a head-mounted device that includes a main body, a monitor-base, at least one monitor, and a sensor. The main body is mounted on the head, and the monitor moves with the monitor-base. The sensor is used for detecting the state of the head, and the monitor is movable to adjust the relative angle of the monitor to the eyes based on the detected head state.

  • The device includes a sensor for detecting the state of the user's head.
  • The monitor is movable to adjust the relative angle of the monitor to the eyes.
  • The virtual image displayed by the monitor is adjusted to ensure the user sees it within their visual field.
  • The device can be used for augmented reality applications.
  • The monitor moves with the monitor-base to maintain the optimal viewing position for the user.

Potential Applications: - Virtual reality gaming - Augmented reality training simulations - Medical applications for visualization during procedures - Industrial use for hands-free operation of machinery - Educational tools for immersive learning experiences

Problems Solved: - Ensures the user sees the virtual image within their visual field - Provides a hands-free viewing experience - Allows for real-time adjustments based on head movements

Benefits: - Enhanced user experience - Improved accuracy in visualizing information - Increased efficiency in various tasks - Hands-free operation for increased safety

Commercial Applications: Title: "Revolutionizing Virtual and Augmented Reality Experiences with Head-Mounted Device" This technology can be utilized in industries such as gaming, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and more to enhance user experiences and improve efficiency in various tasks.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the sensor detect the state of the user's head? 2. What are the potential limitations of adjusting the monitor based on head movements?

Original Abstract Submitted

a head-mounted device comprises a main body, a monitor-base, at least one monitor, and a sensor. the main body is mounted on a head. the monitor moves with the monitor-base. the sensor is mounted on the main body or the monitor-base and used for detecting a state of the head. a visual field is defined as a maximum area seen by eyes of the user, and an area of the virtual image is smaller than the visual field. the at least one monitor is movable by moving the monitor-base relative to the main body according to the state of the head, detected by the sensor, to adjust a relative angle of the monitor to the eyes such that a relative position of the virtual image in the visual field is adjusted, to ensure that the user sees the virtual image. an augmented reality device is also disclosed.
