IMAGING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240267631 titled 'IMAGING APPARATUS

The abstract describes a patent application for an imaging apparatus that includes a common region identifier to identify a common region in images captured by different cameras, a difference calculator to calculate luminance differences between these common regions, and a luminance adjuster to adjust the luminance or other imaging parameters based on these differences.

  • The common region identifier identifies a common region in images captured by different cameras.
  • The difference calculator calculates target luminance differences between these common regions.
  • The luminance adjuster adjusts the luminance of the images or other imaging parameters based on these differences.

Potential Applications: - This technology could be used in surveillance systems to ensure consistent image quality across different cameras. - It could also be applied in automotive systems for enhancing visibility and image consistency in different viewing angles.

Problems Solved: - Addresses the issue of inconsistent image quality between different cameras. - Helps maintain uniformity in image luminance and other parameters across multiple camera sources.

Benefits: - Improves overall image quality and consistency in multi-camera setups. - Enhances the accuracy and reliability of image processing systems.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Imaging System for Surveillance and Automotive Applications This technology could be commercialized for surveillance companies, automotive manufacturers, and other industries requiring high-quality imaging solutions for monitoring and recording purposes.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the common region identifier work in identifying the common regions in images captured by different cameras? 2. What are the specific adjustments that the luminance adjuster can make based on the calculated differences?

Original Abstract Submitted

in an imaging apparatus, a common region identifier identifies a common region of each of a first image captured by a front monitor camera and a second image captured by a surrounding monitor camera. a difference calculator calculates a target luminance difference between the common region of the first image and the common region of the second image. a luminance adjuster performs, based on the target luminance difference, at least one of (i) a first adjustment of adjusting a luminance of the first image and (ii) a second adjustment of adjusting the at least one imaging parameter of the front monitor camera.
