Systems And Methods For Provisioning A Database Of Trusted Users Based On Location - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240241933 titled 'Systems And Methods For Provisioning A Database Of Trusted Users Based On Location

The patent application describes systems and methods for provisioning a database of trusted users stored locally within an information handling system (IHS) based on location.

  • Automatically identifies the location of the IHS and provisions a database of trusted users (TMU database) based on that location.
  • Initially populates the TMU database with a set of trusted users and associated information expected for the identified location.
  • Automatically reprovisions the TMU database with a new set of trusted users if the IHS moves to a different location.
  • Reduces re-enrollment efforts and intelligently manages the TMU database stored locally with the IHS.

Potential Applications: - Enhancing security measures in information handling systems. - Streamlining user management processes based on location. - Improving efficiency in managing trusted user databases.

Problems Solved: - Simplifies the process of managing trusted users in different locations. - Reduces the need for manual intervention in updating user databases. - Enhances security by ensuring that only trusted users are granted access.

Benefits: - Increased security and efficiency in managing user databases. - Seamless transition of trusted user information when the IHS changes location. - Reduction in administrative efforts for maintaining user databases.

Commercial Applications: Title: Location-Based Trusted User Database Provisioning System This technology can be utilized in various industries such as healthcare, finance, and government agencies to enhance data security and streamline user management processes. The market implications include improved compliance with data protection regulations and increased operational efficiency.

Questions about the Location-Based Trusted User Database Provisioning System:

1. How does this technology improve data security in information handling systems? This technology enhances data security by automatically provisioning a database of trusted users based on the location of the information handling system, ensuring that only authorized users have access to sensitive information.

2. What are the potential cost-saving benefits of using this system? By automating the provisioning and management of trusted user databases, organizations can reduce manual labor costs associated with updating user information, leading to cost savings in administrative tasks.

Original Abstract Submitted

embodiments of systems and methods are provided for provisioning a database of trusted users stored locally within an information handling system (ihs) based on location. the systems and methods disclosed herein may be used to identify a location of the ihs, and provision a database of trusted users (e.g., a tmu database) stored locally with the ihs based on the identified location. the tmu database is initially provisioned with a set of trusted users (and associated tmu information) expected for the identified location. if the ihs moves to a different location, the systems and methods disclosed herein may automatically reprovision the tmu database with a set of trusted users (and associated tmu information) expected for the new location. this reduces re-enrollment and enables the systems and methods disclosed herein to intelligently manage the tmu database stored locally with the ihs.
