a connected streetlamp has live video feed zooming capabilities, fifth generation (g) cellular wireless functionality, and traffic analytics capabilities using artificial intelligence (ai) and computer vision image recognition functionality built in to the monitoring device operably attached to or otherwise integrated with the streetlamp head. in other embodiments, the monitoring device may be located on or integrated with other parts of the streetlamp, or located on or integrated with a telephone pole, post, fence, building or other structure located alongside or near a street or road. a vehicle traffic monitoring system may include a plurality of multi-access edge computing (mec) vehicle traffic monitoring devices each integrated in a respective connected streetlamp.
