DISPLAY SUBSTRATE AND DISPLAY PANEL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240215316 titled 'DISPLAY SUBSTRATE AND DISPLAY PANEL

The abstract describes a display substrate with a base substrate, a pixel defining layer with openings, and light emitting units at the openings, some of which have different colors. Each light emitting unit includes an anode, a cathode, and a luminescent functional layer with a first sub-layer that partially overlaps with the non-opening region of the pixel defining layer.

  • Adjacent light emitting units have different colors
  • Luminescent functional layer includes a first sub-layer
  • First sub-layer extends to a side away from the base substrate
  • Carrier mobility of the first sub-layers of different colored units is different
  • Orthographic projections of the first sub-layers of different colored units do not overlap on the base substrate

Potential Applications: - High-resolution displays - Colorful signage - Advanced lighting systems

Problems Solved: - Improved color accuracy - Enhanced display quality - Increased efficiency in light emission

Benefits: - Vivid and accurate color representation - Energy-efficient display technology - Enhanced visual experience for users

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Color Display Technology for Enhanced Visual Experiences This technology can be used in high-end TVs, smartphones, digital signage, and other display devices to provide users with vibrant and accurate color representation, leading to a superior visual experience. The market implications include increased demand for high-quality displays in various industries such as entertainment, advertising, and consumer electronics.

Questions about Color Display Technology: 1. How does the different carrier mobility of the first sub-layers impact the overall performance of the display? 2. What are the potential cost implications of implementing this advanced color display technology in commercial products?

Original Abstract Submitted

a display substrate is provided, including: a base substrate, a pixel defining layer on the base substrate and including openings at intervals; light emitting units correspondingly located at openings. at least some adjacent light emitting units have different colors. each light emitting unit includes an anode, a cathode, and a luminescent functional layer therebetween and including a first sub-layer, orthographic projections of the first sub-layer and a non-opening region of the pixel defining layer on the base substrate partially overlap each other. the first sub-layer extends to a side of the non-opening region away from the base substrate. carrier mobility of the first sub-layers of two adjacent light emitting units with different colors is different. orthographic projections of the first sub-layers of the two adjacent light emitting units with different colors on the base substrate do not overlap each other. a display panel is provided to include the display substrate.
