SHEET SUPPLYING APPARATUS AND PRINTING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240343517 titled 'SHEET SUPPLYING APPARATUS AND PRINTING APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation: The sheet supply apparatus can wind a sheet tightly by rotating a roll in different directions, detecting the leading end of the sheet, and pressing the outer surface of the roll.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Driving unit rotates the roll in different directions for feeding the sheet.
  • Sensor detects the leading end of the sheet.
  • Contact body presses the outer surface of the roll.
  • Continuous rotation in the opposite direction until the leading end is detected within a set time frame.

Potential Applications: This technology can be used in industries that require precise winding of sheets, such as printing, packaging, and manufacturing.

Problems Solved: This technology addresses the issue of loosely wound sheets, ensuring a tight and secure winding process.

Benefits:

  • Improved efficiency in sheet winding processes.
  • Enhanced quality of the wound sheets.
  • Reduced material waste.

Commercial Applications: The technology can be utilized in printing presses, packaging facilities, and manufacturing plants to streamline sheet winding operations and improve overall productivity.

Prior Art: Readers can explore prior patents related to sheet winding apparatus and roll rotation mechanisms to understand the evolution of this technology.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on advancements in sensor technology, roll rotation mechanisms, and automation systems to enhance the efficiency of sheet supply apparatus.

Questions about sheet supply apparatus: 1. How does the sensor detect the leading end of the sheet? 2. What are the potential cost savings associated with implementing this technology in industrial settings?

Original Abstract Submitted

a sheet supplying apparatus, which is capable of winding a sheet tightly, includes a driving unit configured to cause a roll including a wound consecutive sheet to rotate in a first direction for feeding the sheet or a second direction opposite to the first direction, a sensor that detects a leading end portion of the sheet separated from an outer circumferential surface of the roll, and a contact body that presses the outer circumferential surface. before the sheet is fed, in a state in which the contact body presses the outer circumferential surface, the driving unit causes the roll to continuously rotate in the second direction until a detection cycle of the leading end portion by the sensor is less than a predetermined value.
