INSPECTION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240296538 titled 'INSPECTION SYSTEM

The abstract describes an inspection system that reads a target image on a sheet, compares it with a reference image, and displays the inspection result.

  • Reading unit reads a sheet with a target image to generate read image data.
  • Inspection unit compares read image data with reference image data at an inspection level to produce a first inspection result.
  • Control unit displays the inspection result on a display apparatus.
  • If the first inspection result meets a condition, the control unit displays a second inspection result obtained at different candidate levels.

Potential Applications: - Quality control in manufacturing processes - Image inspection in printing and packaging industries - Security checks in document verification

Problems Solved: - Ensures accuracy in image inspection - Facilitates quick identification of discrepancies - Improves overall quality control processes

Benefits: - Enhances efficiency in quality control - Reduces errors in image inspection - Streamlines inspection procedures

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Image Inspection System for Quality Control This technology can be utilized in industries such as printing, manufacturing, and security for accurate and efficient image inspection, leading to improved quality control measures and streamlined processes.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the inspection system determine the inspection level for comparing images? 2. What are the key factors that influence the accuracy of the inspection results?

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on the latest advancements in image inspection technology to enhance quality control processes and efficiency in various industries.

Original Abstract Submitted

an inspection system includes a reading unit that reads a sheet on which a target image is formed to generate read image data, an inspection unit that inspects the target image by comparing the read image data with a reference image data at an inspection level configured from among candidate levels to generate a first inspection result, and a control unit that causes a display apparatus to display an inspection result. in a case where the first inspection result meets a predetermined condition, the control unit causes the display apparatus to display the first inspection result and to display a second inspection result. the second inspection result is obtained by inspecting the target image at one or more candidate levels that are different from the inspection level.
