IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240231258 titled 'IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

The image forming apparatus described in the patent application includes an attachment portion, a storage portion, an agitation member, an actuator, and a control unit. The attachment portion consists of an operation portion with an engagement portion that moves with the shutter, detecting its movement.

  • The operation portion of the attachment portion is designed to move between a closed position and an opened position of the shutter, engaging with it through the engagement portion.
  • A detection unit is responsible for detecting the movement of the operation portion.
  • The control unit is in charge of initiating the driving of the agitation member when the operation portion moves from the opened position to the closed position.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in various types of image forming devices such as printers, scanners, and copiers. - It can also be used in security systems that require precise control over shutter movements.

Problems Solved: - Ensures accurate and timely operation of the shutter in image forming devices. - Provides a reliable method for detecting and controlling the movement of the operation portion.

Benefits: - Improved efficiency and precision in image forming processes. - Enhanced security and control over shutter movements. - Reduced risk of malfunctions or errors in image forming devices.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Shutter Control Technology for Image Forming Devices This technology can be utilized in the manufacturing of printers, scanners, and copiers to enhance their performance and reliability. It can also be integrated into security systems for improved control over shutter movements, catering to a wide range of industries.

Questions about Enhanced Shutter Control Technology for Image Forming Devices: 1. How does this technology improve the overall functionality of image forming devices? This technology ensures precise control over shutter movements, leading to enhanced efficiency and accuracy in image forming processes.

2. What are the potential applications of this technology beyond image forming devices? This technology can also be applied in security systems that require controlled movement of shutters for surveillance and access control purposes.

Original Abstract Submitted

an image forming apparatus including an attachment portion, a storage portion, and an agitation member, an actuator, and a control unit, wherein the attachment portion includes an operation portion, including an engagement portion engaging with the shutter, configured to move with the shutter by the engagement portion being engaged with the shutter, the operation portion being movable between a first position where the shutter is at a closed position and a second position where the shutter is at an opened position, and a detection unit detecting a movement of the operation portion, and wherein the control unit controls the actuator so that driving of the agitation member is started based on the detection of a movement of the operation portion from the second position to the first position.
