INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240212391 titled 'INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

The patent application describes an information processing apparatus that can switch an imaging unit based on the movement of a subject.

  • The determination unit analyzes images from multiple image capturing units to determine if a subject has made a specific movement.
  • The selection unit then chooses an image from the appropriate image capturing unit associated with the movement.
  • The selected image is output to a display unit or recording unit for further use.

Potential Applications: - This technology could be used in security systems to track and monitor individuals based on their movements. - It could also be applied in sports training to analyze and improve athletes' performance based on specific movements.

Problems Solved: - This technology eliminates the need for manual switching of imaging units, making the process more efficient and accurate. - It allows for real-time monitoring and analysis of subjects based on their movements.

Benefits: - Improved accuracy in capturing images based on specific movements. - Enhanced efficiency in processing and analyzing images from multiple sources.

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Imaging Unit Switching Technology for Enhanced Monitoring and Analysis This technology can be utilized in surveillance systems, sports training facilities, and research institutions for enhanced monitoring and analysis capabilities.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this technology improve the efficiency of image processing in comparison to traditional methods? 2. What are the potential limitations of this technology in terms of accuracy and reliability?

Original Abstract Submitted

an information processing apparatus capable of switching an imaging unit according to the intention of a subject or the like comprises a determination unit configured to determine whether a subject has made a predetermined movement based on images from at least one of a plurality of image capturing units, and a selection unit configured to select an image from a predetermined image capturing unit that has been associated with the predetermined movement from among images from the plurality of the image capturing units and output to a display unit or a recording unit, in a case in which it has been determined by the determination unit that the predetermined movement has been performed.
